Hello friends, my name is Bill LaPann and I am a photographer based in northern New York.

My earliest childhood memory is fishing in Lake George with my dad. That was the beginning of my love of nature. I grew up camping with my family in the Adirondacks and I have spent my life exploring its depths.

The most important aspect of photography to me is capturing the emotion in the shot. A climber struggling to finish a 5.12 clean. The love of a couple lost in each others eyes. The shaky confidence on the face of a new hang gliding pilot taking their first step off the ramp. Emotion above all is what makes a picture come alive.

In a world that constantly demands our attention, photography offers a sanctuary, grounding us in the beauty of the here and now.
